Infrastructure, Support and Backup General Systems' computer room has passed safety and security certifications from the U.S. Government (Federal Maritime Commission; United States Information Agency); Municipal governments (City of Annapolis, MD; City of Rockville, MD; Town of Herndon, VA; Loudoun County, VA); and the Saudi Arabian government (Ministry of Finance) for use by their people, equipment and storage of data. Many commercial, retail and financial establishments have also inspected our premises/computer room and have certified us in terms of safety and security. Tape backups are created every evening and stored off-site for up to three months. The prior night's tape is loaded onto a pre-configured server and can be back into production in less than 8 hours. The data and database format, as well as all code for the front end user interface is backed up to tape nightly. General Systems has 30 operating servers, 20 of which operate on-site and 10 of which operate off-site along with DSL Internet and ISDN Dial-up access installed offsite for disaster recovery purposes. A major consideration when looking to Internet enable a database is security. General Systems' network and databases are protected by a CheckPoint FW-1 dedicated device. Management of the firewall is outsourced to Internet Security Systems where CheckPoint certified engineers are available for all firewall maintenance. ISS also monitors the firewall 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. GSC Infrastructure
